.NET Framework 3.0 Released!

The .NET Framework 3.0 has finally been released! Yeah!

http://www.netfx3.com/blogs/news_and_announcements/archive/2006/11/06/.NET-Framework-3.0-has-been-released_2100_.aspx

It includes WPF, WF, and WCF. You can find out everything you pretty much want to know about these things from http://www.winfx3.com.

The bummer part about this release is that it doesn't seem to be a real release of the .NET Framework, but instead is just some class libraries which sit on top of the .NET Framework 2.0! In fact, the .NET Framework 2.0 is installed behind the scenes (if you don't already have it) when you install the .NET Framework 3.0. It isn't till later next year that we will see a real and new version of the framework which will probably be called something like the .NET Framework 3.5 or something .... it won't be then till we see LINQ and the other items that we would expect in a new version of the framework.

With that all said, I am still glad to see this new version of the framework and I am excited to start building some WPF applications.

Back Again!

Well, I am back. I was away for awhile and quite busy with work, but now I am back. I will try to post to the site more often. Thanks to all my friends that encouraged me to get back to writing "The Blog".
